Midland Decks builds decks, covered patios, and pergolas for Midland, TX and the surrounding Permian Basin — Odessa, Greenwood, Gardendale, and out toward Stanton. We started because too many backyards out here were built without any thought for the sun, and sat unused all summer as a result.

Over 17+ years we've learned what a West Texas backyard actually needs: shade first, materials that take the UV, and structures anchored for the wind. Most of our jobs now come from neighbors who saw one we built down the street.

Shade Is the Whole Point Here

Anyone can screw boards to a frame. Building something you'll actually use in a Midland July takes designing around the sun — orientation, cover, airflow, and where the shade falls at 5pm. That's where we start every project, because an unshaded deck in this climate is a deck you'll regret.

Built for Wind and Caliche

A patio cover catches wind like a sail, and the Basin has plenty of it. We engineer the structure for the load and set footings properly into the caliche instead of taking shortcuts. It costs a little more to do right, and it's the difference between a cover that lasts and one that doesn't.

You'll get straight advice on materials, an itemized written quote before we start, and no surprise change orders. We're licensed and insured, and we back our builds. If restoring your old deck makes more sense than replacing it, we'll say so.
